HAVERFORD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A law now in effect in Haverford Township, Delaware County requires children under the age of 16 to wear helmets on electric scooters and bicycles.
This applies to anyone operating the bike, any passengers, and anyone riding in an attached seat or trailer.
Anyone who breaks the new law will be fined $25.
Township officials passed the ordinance back in September.
The death of 12-year-old Abigail Gillon in an e-scooter crash in Aston last year fueled a movement to make safety changes.
